Poethick_Mayor is a Nigerian spoken word poet and storyteller with over 10 years in the spoken word poetry scene. His work explores the nuances of the human mind and the paradoxes at the heart of our existence, exploring identity, truth, resistance, and the quiet weight of the human condition. Born in Ibadan and rooted in Ogbomoso, it is the streets and stages of these cities that shaped him into the poet he is today. He is a back-to-back slam champion at LITFEST Ibadan in the year 2020 & 2021, inaugural slam winner in LAUTECH, Ogbomoso. His poem The Eclipse Never Truly Conquers the Sun was longlisted in the Paradise Gate House Poetry Contest 2023. Beyond the stage, Poethick_Mayor has invested deeply in the future of spoken word, having personally tutored over 50 poets across the country to help them develop and refine their art.
